50 Names For Cats With Tortitude

From their mosaic fur coats of orange and black to their association with good luck, it’s safe to say that tortoiseshell cats are one of the most colorful cats to share your home with. Torties are also known for their colorful personalities, affectionately called "tortitude". And if you’re welcoming a new tortie cat into your family and home--congratulations on your new best friend! Now it’s time to give your newest furry family member a name.

Because the vast majority of tortoiseshell cats are female (only 1 in every 3,000 calicos are male), the names we’ve selected lean that way. But we’ve also included names for the rare male Tortie and names that can be used for both male or female!

My tortie is my little shadow, very talkative, very curious, always into something, and good at disappearing and reappearing. She always makes you wanna go crazy. So based on characteristics and all her name is Chessie. Like the Cheshire cat or game of chess.
